Corbett National Park
Corbett National
Park is the very first national park in India, It was established on
date 6 August 1936, Firstly it was named as Hailey National
Park honoring governor Hailey, In year 1954 it was renamed as
Ram Ganga National park & In year 1956-57 it got
recognition as Jim Corbett National Park, Mr Jim Corbett was a
hunter turned wildlife protector, Who lived in this region, Knew the
language of jungle. Mr Jim Corbett had written the famous book " Man
Eaters of Kumaon " Mr Jim Corbett shot more wildlife by camera
than with his gun. Corbett Park saw another luck when corbett become
part of Project Tiger scheme with support of world wide fund for
nature in year 1973, Corbett park chosen the venue for inauguration
of project Tiger. Corbett national park spans across some 920.9 square Km at an altitude of 600 to 1100 meters
, According to official census released recently 213 tigers and 998
elephants roam in the forests of Uttarakhand. Corbett park is located at foothills of Himalaya in
Nainital and Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand
state. Corbett National park is situated just 250 kms from national
capital , Corbett is just 5 hrs drive away from New Delhi.

In General way
we can say that October to Mid May is the best time of the year for Safari in the park.
Safari is open in Corbett park round the year, Jhirna gate is open
during Monsoon too.

National Park
The Jim Corbett
National park is divided in three parts like Buffer Zone, Tourist
Zone & Core Zone.
First Zone- Buffer zone is shred by wild animals with
domestic animals from near by villages.
Second Zone-
Tourist Zone,
spread over the 6 to 7 kilometers of corbett park area. This zone is
open for visiting tourist for jungle safari and has a huge ground, covered with hundred of cheetals and deers
& other wild animals like Tiger & Elephants.
Third Zone -
The Core Zone,
this is most dense & deep forest area where the real wild life of
Jim corbett National Park is located , but tourist movement is not
allowed in this zone , Core zone is meant for wildlife conservation
only. Forest officials has access in this area for forest & wildlife
conservation .
