Sariska
National Park is located in the Aravali Hills & covers 800 sq km
area divided in to the grasslands, dry forests, sheer cliffs and
rocky landscape.
Sariska national park is covered with dhok trees , and Sariska
Tiger Reserve has many animals beside two tigers,leopard,
sambhar, chital, nilgai, four-horned antelope, wild boar, rhesus
macaque, langur, hyena and jungle cats are found in the Sariska
national park. Many crocodiles lives in Siliserh Lake near
Sariska National Park.
The Sariska National Park has
ruins of
medieval temples of Garh-Rajor that date back to the 10th and
11th centuries. Also an ancient castle is situated on a hilltop
at Kankwari . This old fort provides a wide view of flying
vultures and eagles. The Sariska was declared as a sanctuary in
year 1955 and got the status of a National Park in year 1979.
